Magdalena Öttl was born in 1994 in Augsburg, Germany. From 2013 to 2017 she studied modern dance at Folkwang University of the Arts and worked with choreographers such as Szu-Wei Wu, Mark Sieczkarek and Rainer Behr. Later on she studied at Performact (Torres Vedras, Portugal), where she could be seen in creations by Ricardo Ambrozio, Rakesh Sukesh and Mate Meszaros. Simultaneously she started to create her own choreographic works in 2014 which were shown in different festivals and events around Cologne, Essen, Bochum and Augsburg.
Besides the pure technical dance and dance theater pieces she performed and created within interdisciplinary projects, because of her musical background. Within those creations mostly in cooperation with musicians and actors she intends to approach a multilayer format of performance through the fusion of the different art forms. Since 2017 Magdalena Öttl is working as a freelance artist based in Germany. Since 2018 she is a member of Samadhyana Company. 2019 she joined Ultima Vez for the creation of Traces.
