Les corps avalés
New date
After the remarkable presentation of her first international production Beating, Virginie Brunelle brings us a daring creation and her most ambitious to date. Les corps avalés is a moving human odyssey where the choreographer’s sensitive intelligence leads the audience to a lighted introspection. A living fresco depicting present-day society, the work explores the coexistence of distress and hope, of brutishness and compassion. It questions the legacy and role of humans on Earth, in an uprising that gives hope for the creation of a collectivism that is directed at the other. Mastering a delicate balance between expressiveness and the vigorous physicality of gestural language, Brunelle invites the Quatuor Molinari on stage and directs eight dancers to depict a tired humanity in search of gentleness and solidarity. Elegant and intoxicating, the dance is also healing.
