Out Innerspace returns to La Rotonde with a group piece that oscillates between the tragic and the comic, between ritual and chaos. Our dreams and fears intertwine in this expressive, theatrical world, as only the Vancouver-based company knows how to construct.
This new creation features an unlikely constellation of characters who have outlived their prime and are left wondering if their best days are behind them. The rhinoceros, the skeleton, the matador, the oil, and a cockroach struggle for relevance, undergo transformations, and discover what they bring to uncertain futures. Teetering between comedy and tragedy, this piece delves into what is essential to withstand the passage of time and the threat of the extinction of our dreams. Bold and stimulating dance!
This marks Out Innerspace’s fourth appearance at La Rotonde, following Bygones (2019), Major Motion Picture (2017) and Me So You So Me (2014).
