Fake news, building of the truth: how does the body contribute to giving credibility to dominant discourses? Borrowing words and movements from local media, the performers of BESIDE take on the identity of all mass media. An opportunity to examine how radios in Quebec dance.
Accompanying the show, the installation RADIOMATON invites the public to experience the fascinating process behind the performance.

Appropriez-vous des mots et des gestes, incarnez les actualités radiophoniques pour les mettre à votre image, et contribuez à propager l’information sans vérification.
Véritable expérience sensorielle et immersive, RADIOMATON questionne la construction de la vérité, la contamination médiatique, les fake news et le rôle du corps dans la perception des informations.
Installé·e dans une cabine individuelle de type photomaton et équipé·e d’écouteurs diffusant une radio locale, chaque utilisateur·trice doit répéter à voix haute les mots qu’il·elle entend, tout en reprenant des gestes qui lui sont télésoufflés. Sa performance filmée, mêlant des mouvements et des mots qui ne s’appartiennent pas, est remixée dans un kaléidoscope vidéo où tous les sens s’entrecroisent.
