Bygones
After Me So You So Me and Major Motion Picture, the Vancouver-based Out Innerspace Dance Theatre company returns to Québec with a chimerical proposal that flirts with the supernatural.
Everything is in limbo. Everyone is tempted and attempting. The in-between is painful, awkward, hilarious but necessary. Dancers oscillate on the brink of becoming, in flux with what has come before, a dance that earns transformation and unleashes new spirit with the ability to rebuild. Bygones is a tribute to human will, to the big and beautiful occurrences that happen when obstacles are overcome.
As the light literally sculpts the movement, characters come to life in the margins as body sculptures exude fascination, revealing a ghostly architecture. Something like a physical anarchy that teases materiality, reverses logic and acts as a hymn to invisible forces and unconfessed desires.
