Jade Chong (she/her) is a contemporary dance artist living and working on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples. Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Jade first found her passion for movement and athletic artistry as a gymnast beginning at age 2. She began dancing at Defy Gravity Dance Company and continued her post-secondary training at Modus Operandi Contemporary Dance Program (MO) under the direction of Tiffany Tregarthan, David Raymond and Kate Franklin. Jade graduated from MO in 2020 with the support of a BC Arts Council scholarship for all four years. Since graduating she has had the pleasure of dancing for a variety of artists such as Company 605, Khoudia Toure, Kirsten Wicklund, MUCCI/OURO Collective, Out Innerspace Dance Theatre, and Shay Kuebler / Radical System Art (RSA). Most recently Jade has had the pleasure of performing with RSA on their international tour to France and Austria. Jade has graduated post-secondary on the Dean’s Honour Roll with a Kinesiology Diploma.
